Discovered Alan during the pandemic and have been a fan ever since. This Book Street Safari, is an absolute gem page after page of beautiful photos that just warm the heart. Regardless if I am starting my day or winding it down. This book just sets the right tone.
I love the book itself. The print quality is definitely up there.
My only concern was the delivery options. I wish there was an option to pick a different logistics company. My book was at the post office for 2 weeks.
Aside from that, I am happy with my purchase.
It’s a wonderfully done book. Alan is a spiritual heir to both Elliott Erwitt and Pentti Sammallahti — and capturing animals represents just a portion of his immense talents.
It’s a lovely publication. I was pleased with the speedy delivery. However, I was a bit surprised by the customs duties charged on a parcel from the UK...
Many thanks to Irys Publishing and Alan Schaller for the fast shipment! Once it left the UK, it only took two days to arrive in the US, and from there only two days to be delivered to my local post office in Arizona via the US Postal Service. Absolutely amazing!
The book arrived in excellent condition thanks to the cardboard protection. I was also surprised to receive a signed copy. (Thank you!) Although I quickly ordered it after seeing the initial Instagram post, I didn’t think I would receive a signed copy when I saw my order number.
The book itself is absolutely stunning in both the images and quality. Alan never ceases to amaze me with his excellent eye and composition.
And many thanks to Alan. I may be a bit older (ok, quite a bit older), but I’m continually inspired by great photographers and Alan is definitely at the top of the list. Black and white will always resonate!
The next time Alan is in Arizona—especially Southern Arizona (I’m 20 miles north of the US-Mexico border)—beers and tacos are on me!
Regards,
Jay V
i really love the way of taking photographies it seems that the persons or animals talk to you.
hope one day i ll meet mr allan schaller.
so great job and so inspiring
I'm a big fan of Alan Schaller and love his work. Very inspiring for me. I've been looking forward to this book, and whatever else he releases in the future, and I was not disappointed. This a wonderful book showcasing some of Alan's brilliant photography of animals. It will live with my copy of Metropolis and be a book that I return to over and over. My only issue with the book is that my copy was dented in shipping, but that in no way detracts from my enjoyment of it. Two thumbs up on this one.
The Latvian govermnet with its 36eur VAT and customs made the highest profit on that book 🤣🤣🤣
Otherwise it is in my number one favorite, because of signature and the content too. Thanks to Alan!!!
A signed copy of course , I’m an avid fan of Alan’s work so it was a no brainier to buy it, and it’s a joy to read and immerse myself in the wonderful images contained inside.
Unfortunately the signed book arrived damaged on the corner, with no sign of any damage to the packaging. I can only assume it happened before it was posted.
It doesn’t take away from the quality of the book and stunning images (and it’s signed)
Really pleased I purchased it
This book is amazing and I love Alan's work! As a naturalist I also appreciate that side of this particular project, even if the animals in this book are mainly pets and not actual wildlife. Overall is one of the best and worthiest books one could wish to have in his bookshelf (or even better, open on a table and ready to be admired).
